Howtherapy helps
Our sessions would offer a safe and non-judgemental space to explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours.
By sharing like this with another human who is fully present to hear you, who can witness your pain and help you make sense of what is happening, there can be a real, tangible therapeutic benefit: healing.
Importantly, we work together to understand and deal with confusion, helping you to feel less overwhelmed, gain clarity and make better, more positive decisions.
Sharing your thoughts, feelings & emotions takes the power out of them
When you hold onto them they become magnified and overwhelming.
Sharing helps to gain perspective and “right-size” them so that they become manageable.
Unprocessed thoughts, feelings and emotions stay with us and weigh us down, they cause anxiety and depression.
Sharing them allows you to process them so they move and pass.
We can often be our own worst critic
My experience shows me that many of us have a particularly harsh inner critic which prevents us from experiencing a full and happy life.
We speak to ourselves in ways we would not dream of speaking to others. We can have compassion and empathy for others but find it hard to have this compassion and empathy for ourselves.
It is possible, with work, to turn the volume down and counselling can help.
